The Marauders and Huskies ran out of daylight as the game ends after seven innings with the game tied at 10.
Ovid-Elsie fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jakob Loynes doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. The Marauders notched three runs in the sixth inning with the big blow coming off of the bat of Chris Zruna when he hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 8-7. The Marauders would later score on an error to tie the game at 8 entering the seventh inning.
After surrendering two runs in the top of the seventh to make the score 10-8, the Marauders would load the bases with one out in the bottom half of the inning. Zruna would come up big again when he ripped a single to centerfield scoring Ben Maynard and Jake Chrenka to tie the game.
After Hunter Bukantis drew a walk, the Marauders had the bases loaded again with just one out. However, a line shot off of the bat of Cayleb Carman would find the glove of the first baseman for the second out and another tough play made by the first baseman off of the bat of Tyler Knickerbocker would end the inning as the Marauders would have to settle with a tie in this wild non-league match-up.
The Marauders racked up ten hits in the game. Zruna and Tyler Knickerbocker each had multiple hits for the Marauders. Zruna went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Ovid-Elsie while knocking in four runs in the game.
The tie makes the Marauders 12-11-1 overall as they head into the last week of the regular season.
