Coach’s Comments:
“Boy did we battle tonight. Chesaning is such a quality team, and we knew especially after losing by a point to them last week this was going to be a tough one. The game was back and forth in the first half with both defenses really making it tough to score. We got down 10 in the third, and then 8 again in the 4th after we had cut it to 2, with a few minutes left. From there Liam Thompson scored 7 straight for us, and a huge steal and layup with a free throw from Jake Loynes with 2 minutes to go gave us the lead for the first time since the 1st quarter and for good. Shayne Loynes had a steal with 7 seconds left to secure the ball for us, and we survived a half court shot to pull out the victory in a great high school basketball game. We move on to face a really good Flint Powers Catholic team in the District Semi-Finals on Wednesday at 7 at Mt. Morris.”
