The Lady Marauders improved to 12-9 on the season and will play for a District championship on Friday night against the winner of the Corunna-Chesaning game. Ovid-Elsie turned back Mt. Morris Wednesday night, 68-27 to earn their second trip to the finals in three years.

Lauren Barton and Caitlyn Walter paced the Marauders with 14 points each with Barton grabbing 7 rebounds and Walter 5 caroms. Walter’s only three-pointer of the night set a new record for OE (40) surpassing Linnea Brandholm’s record of 39.

Josie Nash had a great all around game with 10 points, 4 assists and 5 steals while Kylee Sevenski added 8 points and 5 steals. Erin Witt tallied 7 poinnts, 5 assists an 5 steals.
Those 5 steals were good enough to set a new school record for the most steals in a single season (80).

Kennedy Haynes (3 rebounds, 6 steals), Kierah Darling and Micayla Coleman each scored 4 points while Kylie Visger chipped in with 3 points and 5 rebounds.

OE turned Mt. Morris over 40 times, 28 of which were steals. They also assisted 14 times on 24 made baskets. OE also won the rebound battle 30-25 and shot a respectable 19 of 30 from the line (63.3%).
