In a game in which there were multiple lead changes Byron took advantage of a wild pitch to score the winning run in the seventh to edge the Marauders 8-7.
Neil L’Esperance earned the win for Byron. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out four and walking one. Chris Zruna took the loss for Ovid-Elsie. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and three runs while striking out two and walking one.
Aaron Hurst started the game for Ovid-Elsie. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out five Kyle Hulett started the game for Byron. He allowed nine hits and seven runs over five and a third innings, striking out five.
The Marauders racked up ten hits on the day. Knickerbocker and Kyren Henning each had multiple hits for O-E Marauders. Knickerbocker went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Marauders in hits while knocking in two runs. Henning had three RBI’s on his two hits.
The loss drops the Marauders 12-12-1 and 6-7 in MMAC action.
