After a heartbreaking loss in the opener, the Marauders were able to score 4-2 victory over Byron to wrap up the inaugural MMAC baseball season.
Devon Stringhum got the win for Ovid-Elsie. He surrendered one run on two hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six. Jackson Thornton threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Thornton recorded the last four outs to earn the save. Neil L’Esperance took the loss for Byron. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out four and walking zero.
Aaron Hurst went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Marauders in hits. He also knocked in two of the four runs while Cayleb Carman was able to knock in the other two.
The win moves the Marauders to 13-12-1 overall and 7-7 in MMAC action.
Steven Ursic led Byron with two hits in three at bats.
