We took another huge step towards a conference title tonight with a 5-1 win over Byron. We knew tonight was going to be a tough night having lost 1-3 to Byron earlier in the season, handing us our only conference loss. With a conference title up for grabs, our girls came out ready to play tonight. I’m happy to say that we were able to show just how good we can be when we are on our game. Byron is a good team and this is a real quality win for us. With only two games left in the regular season I am thrilled to say that we are hitting our stride. Raygan Fluharty had a tremendous game tonight with a goal and three assists and Kylee Sevenski showed real leadership tonight by being willing to do what was best for the team. She switched from a central midfielder to a central defender and was integral in helping shut down a dangerous Byron attack (Great game Kylee – Happy Birthday!). This is a special team, we play well together, we play for each other and no one person carries us. I believe that our strength comes from everyone being able to rely on one another. I couldn’t be more proud of our effort tonight. I do want to give a special thanks to our seniors on their last home game (Madilyn Bancroft, Vivian Cole, Micayla Coleman, Kylee Sevenski, Aurora Snider, Meghan Soliz) all of whom played their hearts out tonight. You girls have helped make this a great year, let’s keep it rolling. Also, I’d like to thank all of the parents for their support throughout the years.
