Ovid-Elsie Girls Cross Country Team Finishes Sixth

The lady marauders struggles in the league continued October 10th at Uncle Johns Cider Mill as they hosted the league championships. The day brought rainy conditions that erupted into a complete downpour during their race which resulted in slower times as the course became a muddy wet mess.

The race was won by the Byron ladies who ended up sweeping all three races this season to become league champions. They were followed by New Lothrup, Chesaning and Durand, Montrose and Ovid-Elsie.

Emme Koutz was the bright spot for the lady marauders as she finished 3rd overall earning herself First Team All-League honors by running a 21:11.4. She was the only marauder to earn season honors for the team this season. She was followed by Sam Grubaugh with a 26:08, Tristin Ziola with a 26:48, Ashley Pumford with a 27:54.1, Leah Gruber with a 31:48, Chloe Evans with a 32:43 and Elena Davidovic with a 32:45.

The next competition for the team is the Greater Lansing Cross Country Championships hosted by Grand Ledge High School at Ledge Meadows Golf Course on Saturday October 13th. Races begin at 10am.
