The Marauders were able to sandwich a 1 1/2 hour rain and thunder delay with four run innings to take 8-3 victory over the Lakeville Falcons in MMAC action.
After falling behind in the first 2-0, the Marauders were able to get back on top when they struck for four runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-2 lead. Base hits from Hunter Bukantis, Cayleb Carman, Tyler Knickerbocker and Devon Stringhum were what helped the Marauders get back on top.
Just as the Marauders were getting ready to take the field with their lead, the sound of thunder would bring the game to a halt. After some heavy rain and scattered thunder, the Marauders were finally able to take the field 1 1/2 hours later with their lead. After holding the Falcons to no runs in the bottom of the third, the Marauders bats came back to life as they were able to tack on four more runs in the top of the fourth to put the Marauders up 8-2. The Falcons would score a single run in the bottom of the fourth to make the final score 8-3.
Hunter Bukantis led the Marauders to victory on the hill. He surrendered three runs on three hits over six innings, striking out five. Pletcher took the loss for Lakeville.
Carman and Knickerbocker would have multiple hits in the game with Carman finishing 2 for 4, while Knickerbocker would go 3 for 4 with a double.
The win moves the Marauders to 11-10 and 5-6 in MMAC action.
